Our veterinarians are responsible for supporting our mission in several capacities including our walk-in Wellness Care Clinic, offsite vaccination clinics and spay/neuter surgery clinic. Clinic locations vary and will include both Missouri and Kansas.

Essential duties for spay neuter veterinarian nclude:

  • Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on the needs of their pet(s).
  • Supervise patient flow to maximize quantity and quality of services provided.
  • We have a couple options for surgery

    • Ability to spay and neuter a minimum of 20-25 pets a day.  Both part time and or full time relief work available. 

    • OR  Willingness to learn through additional training opportunities through our clinic and paid outside training for specialized high volume spay neuter. 
  • Complete wellness examinations and treatments in a competent, safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain complete individual patient medical records.
  • Examine animals prior to services including surgery, treatments, vaccinations.
  • Provide in-house treatment to animals as needed with the resources available and/or refer to appropriate referral clinic or hospital aligning with the mission and policies of SNKC.
  • Work with a committee in the development of standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring and ordering of medical supplies, inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct research on ways to improve processes and efficiencies in the surgery clinic
  • Lead in staff supervision, training and corrective action for immediate staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills to support overall mission, core values and success of the team.
  • Supervision of 2-3 support staff members.

Essential duties for wellness clinic veterinarian include:

  • Exam, treat and vaccinate 35-135 pets a day through organized clinic setting. 
  • Complete wellness examinations and treatments in a competent, safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain complete individual patient medical records.
  • Examine animals prior to services including surgery, treatments, vaccinations.
  • Provide in-house treatment to animals as needed with the resources availability and/or refer to appropriate referral clinic or hospital aligning with the mission and policies of SNKC.
  • Work with a committee in development of standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring and ordering of medical supplies, inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct research on ways to improve processes and efficiencies in Wellness Care Clinic.

Requirements for position:

  • Must have currently (or be willing to obtain in reasonable time) a Missouri and Kansas license.
  • Must be willing to obtain (in reasonable time) a DEA license.
  • Must be able to commute to both KS and MO clinic locations.
  • Must be a currently licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Must be available full-time Tuesday through Saturday

Additional information:

  • Position range $70,000-$110,000 +; negotiable pending experience and performance level
  • $1,200 annual reimbursable expense account to be used for business related expenses at the veterinarian’s discretion including job-related continuing education, textbooks, licensing fees, liability insurance, etc.
  • Health insurance offered after 60 days. (Organization covers approximately 70% of costs)
  • Exempt salaried employees earn 120 hours of PTO, discounted services for personal pets, paid holidays (as applicable) and 36 hours granted annually for personal unpaid time off.
